Join us to discuss 'The Myth of Thanksgiving'
This month, we will continue our Striving for Justice discussions around Indigenous people of the United States with a film "The Myth of Thanksgiving: Native American Perspective on The Pilgrims."
We will gather on Sunday, Nov. 28 from 6:30-8 p.m. on Zoom. Register HERE for the link. This is the weekend after the Thanksgiving holiday, so the discussion is timely.
Here's what you can expect from the film: Inspired by the 2015 film The Pilgrims, American Experience presents a special discussion sharing Native American perspectives on the arrival of European settlers in New England 400 years ago. The conversation will examine the experiences of Native populations at the time of the settlers’ arrival, what is actually known about the first Thanksgiving, and how native tribes see themselves in today’s construction of the United States.
To join, simply watch the documentary sometime before Nov. 28. You can do so for free HERE. Then join us on Zoom at 6:30 Sunday, Nov. 28.
That's it. Hope to see you this month!
