Join Us: Virtual Discussion of 'Unbreathable'

2_797

Please join us virtually on Sunday, April 25 at 6:30 p.m. as we discuss the documentary 'Unbreathable: The Fight for Healthy Air.'

The Striving for Justice Series gathers on Zoom each month to discuss a new film, but all are welcome whether you have attended before or not.

"Unbreathable: The Fight for Healthy Air is a timely, powerful look at fifty years of the Clean Air Act and the challenges we still face to ensure healthy air for everyone. Weaving historical milestones with current day stories of environmental injustice, the film is an excellent tool for educational and community engagement.

This 30-minute film premieres at a critical time. Asthma is the number one health issue for children, and recent research links air pollution to higher cases and deaths from COVID-19. Environmental regulations and enforcement of existing laws are being stripped away when the need for renewable energy is more urgent than ever.

Directed and executive produced by award-winning filmmaker Maggie Burnette Stogner and produced by Elizabeth Joy Herzfeldt-Kamprath, Unbreathable was made with support from the American Lung Association, AU’s Center for Environmental Filmmaking, AU’s Center for Environmental Policy, and the Hanley Foundation. Tax-deductible fiscal sponsor: American University.

Informative and inspiring, the film is an excellent catalyst for engagement and action designed to reach a wide range of audiences."

To join our discussion, simply watch the documentary sometime before April 25 at 6:30. You can do so right here. You will need a password, which will be emailed to you when you register for the meeting. Register for our conversation HERE, and we'll send you a link to Zoom and the password!

Hope to see you Sunday, April 25!
