If you are seeking assistance with rent, mortgage, utilities, or other essential expenses including employment and education, call us at 706-327-2836 and press 1. This line is answered ONLY by voicemail so be sure to leave a message. We work through the requests for assistance on a first come, first serve basis. Due to overwhelming need, we cannot get to everyone each month. If you do not hear from us and your need continues, call back at the beginning of the next month to be added to the new list for that month. Please note, we do not take requests for assistance through the website.
About Direct Service
The heart of CVEM is our Direct Service to neighbors in times of great need or crisis. Trained volunteers meet with folks on an appointment basis and offer financial assistance for housing and medical expenses, obtaining basic household furnishings and goods, education and job-related expenses, and helping to maintain essential transportation. Direct Service, however, is so much more than financial assistance. We offer time for folks to share their stories; we sometimes ask tough questions and offer input to help problem-solve; and we connect people with other community resources.
Life-Giving Assistance through One-on-One Relationships
Contact us if you’d like to explore volunteer opportunities at CVEM. Email Martha at [email protected] -- and if you’d like to help out a neighbor in a time of crisis please donate here. 100% of all donations designated for Direct Service will be used in the form of assistance on behalf a neighbor in need.
