Special Offerings

CVEM serves the parishes of the Chattahoochee Valley to help coordinate training, provide resources and support for parish initiatives focused on social justice themes, and facilitate sharing of resources as we go forth, outside the walls of our individual parishes, to serve our neighbors and communities.
Meditations
Annually, we offer an Easter Meditation series to coincide with each of the weeks of the Easter Season. We also have various meditation materials available at our ministry house year-round.
Safeguarding God's Children
This training is an opportunity to equip church staff and volunteers, lay leaders and parents with awareness and information to protect the children they know and care for in their personal lives and the ministries in which they serve. Safeguarding God's Children is an educational and training resource that is founded on the philosophy that, if every adult can protect just one child, they will forever change one life. If we can all change one life, together we will make a difference in this generation of children.
This 3-hour group training is required by the Diocese of Atlanta for all church personnel (paid or volunteer) who regularly work with or around children and youth, all members of the vestry and members of any supervisory group over the children of youth of the parish. As a Jubilee Ministry, CVEM can sponsor this training for parishioners who need it and it will allow participants to attend free of charge.
Dismantling Racism
Dismantling Racism training seeks to increase "racial understanding, healing and reconciliation." It is offered several times throughout the year. Trainings are developed by the Diocese of Atlanta Beloved Community: Commission for Dismantling Racism, and CVEM is happy to sponsor this event for our area.
The one-day training sessions, which run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on scheduled Thursdays or Saturdays. There is no charge for the training, and lunch is provided.
